Honor Native Veterans
Honor Native veterans during the dedication of the National Native American Veterans Memorial by performing at the museum from November 11, 2020 through November 15, 2020
Following the Native Veterans procession and memorial dedication ceremony at the National Museum of the American Indian, individuals and groups will have the opportunity to honor Native American, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian service and veterans with a performance. If you or your group would like to perform, please complete the below application. All applications will be reviewed by staff at the museum who will follow up with each individual application to confirm participation.
Performances will take place on November 11, 2020 between 1–8 PM. November 12–15, 2020 performances will take place between 10 AM–5 PM.

What is the purpose of these performances?
The National Museum of the American Indian will dedicate the National Native American Veterans Memorial on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Throughout these five days, individuals and groups will have an opportunity to honor Native veterans by performing in the museum.
Who is allowed to perform?
Individuals and groups can both apply to perform in the museum during the dedication of the National Native American Veterans Memorial. All performances are to honor Native veterans, and should be able to take place within the allotted time.
What is the timing for these performances?
Performances will take place on the hour each day. Performances on November 11, 2020 will run from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Performances on November 12 through November 15 will run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. All performers will have 20 minutes for their performance, with time between each group to re-set the stage, test equipment, and introduce the next performance.
What equipment and audiovisual support will be available to performers?
The National Museum of the American Indian will have staff onsite to operate basic audiovisual equipment and provide support for groups. The space will have a stage for performances, as well as space for dance groups. The museum will not provide instruments or stage decoration. All performances will be webcast.
How are performers selected?
This application does not guarantee a performance space and time at the museum. Staff from the National Museum of the American Indian will review all applications and follow up with performers individually to share the status of their application, ask any additional questions, and assign a performance time slot. We will do our best to work with performers to accommodate requested dates and times for performances.
How will groups receive follow up infomration and updates on the Memorial Dedication?
Performance groups will be notified of the status of their application via email. Please be sure to list a valid email address in your application, and feel free to submit contact information for additional performers.
Will performers receive any honorarium or payment for performances?
No, all performances are at the performer's discretion. These performances are an opportunity for groups and individuals to honor Native veterans on this historic occasion. Light refreshments such as bottled water will be available for performers.
